Alva - Cashmere revive

Alva has just arrived and adds a fine, soft luxury yarn for true enthusiasts to the BC Garn range! It is made of 95% recycled cashmere and 5% wool, with the wool giving the yarn the stability it needs. By using recycled cashmere, you don't have to give up the buttery-soft feel on your skin – while saving quite a lot of energy and water compared to production from new fibers: Alva requires 66% less water and 67% less energy. What makes it special: Alva's beautiful colors are created exclusively through particularly careful sorting of the collected textile scraps by color. Only then are the fibers shredded and spun into new yarn. As a result, our spinning mill can completely do without a further dyeing process. As a knitter, however, you should therefore also expect slight color variations between individual dye lots.

The production process of Alva is certified according to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). With a generous yardage of 115 m per 25 g, Alva is wonderfully suited for small and large scarves, hats or even sweaters. Some caution is advised when knitting cable patterns, however: under strong tension, Alva can break somewhat more easily than yarns made from non-recycled materials.
