This yarn combines beautiful fine virgin wool with non-violent, soft Eri silk. With Eri silk, the caterpillars are allowed to hatch from the cocoon before the thread is obtained. The yarn has a fine sheen and is wonderfully soft. The silk content makes it machine washable – without any superwash treatment. Semilla Silkbloom comes with a GOTS seal and is therefore perfectly suited not only for adult nature lovers, but also for babies and toddlers. It is the perfect all-rounder yarn for accessories as well as for sweaters, jackets and children's clothing. The color palette is a selection of the most beautiful Semilla colors, which go together harmoniously.
What does it mean that the yarn is certified according to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)? With the GOTS seal, everything is checked: from animal welfare to dyes free of harmful substances and environmentally sound production, through to fair pay for everyone involved and compliance with strict social criteria. In addition to ecological criteria, GOTS also covers social criteria along the entire supply chain, thus going beyond pure tests for harmful substances such as Öko-Tex 100. By the way, the raw wool comes from Argentina and is of course mulesing-free. It is spun and dyed in Italy.
