The knitting patterns in "Sussex" also take this as their starting point. Sussex County is a beautiful part of southern England with rugged coastlines, majestic chalk cliffs, and rolling hills. The designs by Erika Knight, Mieka John, and Jule Kebelmann reflect this diverse landscape. They drew inspiration from Britain's rich knitting traditions and created a modern interpretation of cable-knit vests, Shetland lace, and fisherman's sweaters.

Photos: Simone Hawlisch

The knitting patterns

Pelham sweater
A ribbed pattern symbolizes resilience and reliability, making it ideal for blustery walks when the wide collar is pulled up to the chin for protection from the elements.
